Jennifer L. Esposito Homendy [1] (born November 26, 1971) is an American government official, currently serving as the 15th chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) since August 2021, [2] having been a member of the NTSB since August 2018.

Jennifer L. Homendy is the 15th Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), an independent federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident in the United States and significant events in other modes of transportation, including rail, transit, roadway, marine, pipeline, and commercial space.

Alvin Brown took the oath of office as the 47 th Member of the National Transportation Safety Board on March 13, 2024. On Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, Brown was appointed by President Biden to serve as vice chairman.

The five members of the National Transportation Safety Board each serve five-year terms after they are nominated by the president of the United States and confirmed by the United States Senate. One member is designated by the president to serve as chairman and another as vice chairman; each serves a two-year term in those capacities.
