The Raiders selected Mellott in the sixth round of the NFL draft last month. The Butte native is listed as a wide receiver, but the Raiders “don’t want to pigeonhole him,” Las Vegas’ director of college scouting Brandon Yeargan said after the draft. Mellott will likely line up on special teams and potentially at true QB, Yeargan added.
