India's reluctance to send its team to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy has delayed the tournament's progress, including the release of its schedule. India has insisted on playing its matches in the UAE under a hybrid model instead of traveling to Pakistan.

Last week, the ICC reached a consensus to conduct the eight-team competition in a hybrid model, allowing India to play its share of matches in Dubai while agreeing "in principle" to a similar arrangement in multi-lateral events till 2027.

ICC is struggling to finalize the schedule for Champions Trophy 2025 due to unresolved differences between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the proposed hybrid model.

Just when everyone thought that the 2025 Champions Trophy saga was over with hosts Pakistan agreeing on a hybrid model for the tournament, a new report has claimed that no consensus has been reached over the tournament schedule,

It is possible that some stakeholders could resurrect calls to change the Champions Trophy to a T20 format, which is quicker and easier to market than the ODIs.
