Now, the knives are turning on the men running Meta’s artificial intelligence division. An investigation by the Times found that one such chatbot, powered with the likeness of actor John Cena, offered explicit sexual roleplay responses to a user-roleplaying as a 14-year-old girl.

The Wall Street Journal reports that over a period of months, it was able to coerce Meta AI — even the ones meant to mimic celebrities like John Cena, and even when using accounts registered as underage — into playing out sexual fantasies.

Romantic roleplay chatbots are only going to be a nightmare for Meta. Mark Zuckerberg should think whether he even wants to be in this risky business.
