A man whose family said has a history of schizophrenia is being blamed for the brutal stabbing deaths of three people, including two children in St. Helena Parish.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. deputies with St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an apparent triple homicide at 1599 Sawmill Road in Amite.

The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a home on Sawmill Road in Amite, around 4:39 p.m., where they discovered the three victims fatally stabbed. The victims include a 40-year-old woman, her 10-year-old son, and her 1-year-old nephew.
