The Bears didn’t pick former Packers coach Mike McCarthy, but Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is now staying inside the NFC North.

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy appeared to be a front-runner for the Chicago Bears head coaching gig, but the team ultimately went a different way.

Two weeks ago, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that McCarthy "could set his sights on Chicago." It was apparently mutual after the Bears requested an interview with McCarthy while he was still under contract by the Cowboys, who denied the request.
