Police arrested a man after a tense standoff in South Abington Township with SWAT resolving the situation safely.

Police say they were called to an apartment in the South St. Anthony Park neighborhood around 6:40 p.m. to check on an argument. Once they arrived to the 2400 block of Territorial Road, officers asked a man and a woman to leave their apartment.

RENTON, Wash. — Renton SWAT arrested a woman after she barricaded herself inside a residence for hours on Friday. Police responded to a threat of a woman with a knife at around 2 pm and when they arrived, others in the residence were able to safely escape while the woman barricaded herself inside, according to Renton Police.

Authorities first responded to the suspect firing a shot at someone and damaging vehicles with his own car. Authorities tried to get him to surrender and soon learned, he was gone.

SWAT ultimately located the woman hiding in a chest in the basement, according to Kettering police. Officers found a firearm and suspect meth and fentanyl in the home. Police notified a nearby school of the standoff and stopped all traffic until SWAT was able to clear the home.
