St. Louis County Councilman Mark Harder is calling for an audit of the Prosecuting Attorney’s office under Wesley Bell. The call comes a day after the Missouri State Auditor released an audit into the St.

After the winter storm closed the St. Louis County Courthouse Monday, Tuesday marked the first day on the job for St. Louis County's new prosecutor, Melissa Price Smith.

The council is asking the state auditor to look into concerns of credit card use, travel expenses and mishandling of Sunshine Law requests.

One of the ideas under consideration would allow the seven-member council to remove the county executive with five votes.

The St. Louis County Council discussed two major proposals Tuesday night: one that could eventually lead to them ousting County Executive Sam Page, and another that requests the state conduct an investigation into the county’s prosecuting attorney’s office that could lead to a full audit.
