Charlie Coyle scored a pair of third-period goals, stealing the spotlight from fellow Boston University product Macklin Celebrini in his first game back at the TD Garden as an NHLer and leading the Bruins to a 6-3 victory over San Jose on Monday. It was Boston's 14th straight victory over the Sharks.

The Bruins return home after letting a valuable point slip away Saturday in Ottawa as they let a two-goal lead slip away in the final four minutes of regulation before losing in a shootout, 6-5.

The Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks face off in a non-conference matchup on Monday, Jan. 20.

Will Smith came home to Boston with a goal and an assist in one of the best games of his young career. Fabian Zetterlund and Barclay Goodrow also scored for the Sharks, who have lost three straight. Yaroslav Askarov returned from an illness and made 27 saves.

With the Sharks trailing 2-1 midway through the second period, Smith poked the puck off the stick of Jonathan Beecher to himself in the neutral zone, worked a give-and-go with Mikael Granlund, and beat Bruins goalie Joonas Korpisalo with a wrist shot to the short side.
