A freeze placed this year on their use to treat gender dysphoria will remain in place for young people under 18, except in clinical trials, Britain’s government said.

The study found no comprehensive evidence to support the routine prescription of transgender drugs to children who have gender dysphoria.

A clinical trial will be conducted next year to establish a “clear evidence base” while a broader review will take place in 2027.
