Just 24 hours after heavy rain flooded several homes on Chicago’s West Side, more rain on Saturday afternoon made it difficult for residents to dry out their belongings.

There is a small chance of a spotty t’shower this afternoon. This will be the first of a three-day heat wave reaching its peak tomorrow. Temperatures were well into the 80s as of 10 a.m. This should be day 21 of 90 degrees or warmer in Chicago this year with two more in the hopper before a mid-week cool down.

The Chicago area has felt less of an impact from the Trump administration’s National Weather Service cuts than offices in the Quad Cities and downstate Lincoln.

A line of fast-moving storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings in the Chicago area and ground stops at O'Hare and Midway airports. There were also reports of storm damage.
