A 41-year-old man accused of steering into a motorcyclist last week before speeding off on U.S. 26 was indicted Monday on charges of attempted murder in the second degree, assault, unlawful use of weapon and failure to perform the duties of a driver.
According to the Hokah Police Department, an incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning involving two males in the area of Falls Street and Race Street.
The man was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail. He faces charges of attempted murder, human trafficking, assault with a firearm, assault likely to cause great bodily injury, threats to commit a crime resulting in death, pimping, pandering, and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Dashcam video shows the collision, which was brought on by an apparent road rage incident. The driver of the blue Kia fled after the crash.
A car was then found on fire a short time later near Bridge of Allan as police ask for witnesses to come forward.
