Israel’s Shin Bet security agency has said it “failed in its mission” to prevent Hamas’ October 7 attack by ignoring repeated warning signs.

The Shin Bet said that it had disregarded intelligence from Gaza about a planned Hamas raid, but also that government policies may have emboldened the militants to attack.

According to Iranian state media, Qatar said that “Persian Gulf states will run out of drinking water in three days if Iran’s nuclear sites attacked.”

Israel has accepted the invitation of the mediators backed by the United States and will send a delegation to Doha on Monday in an effort to advance the hostage negotiations, the Prime Minister's Office announced on Saturday. The delegation will be led by M. from the Shin Bet, who is Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar's former deputy.

Israel's domestic security agency had Hamas' battle plans for the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks but didn't take them seriously. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deflected responsibility for the failure.
