SUNRISE, Fla. -- Sam Reinhart scored a goal and had two assists for the Florida Panthers, who defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. Reinhart, who will represent Canada in the 4 Nations Face-Off from Feb. 12-20, became the first player in Panthers history to score at least 30 goals in four consecutive seasons.

Ryan Donato won the opening faceoff, then played the puck into the Florida zone. Slaggert — getting his second goal in just his third game of the season — skated past two Panthers defenders, collected the puck and beat Florida goalie Sergei Bobrovsky with a backhander.

Slaggert scored seven seconds into Chicago’s game at the Panthers Saturday afternoon — the fastest goal to start a game ever for the Blackhawks, according to the NHL record book.

The Chicago Blackhawks capped off their three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon. All three games were against high-end Eastern Conference teams and the finale was against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
