Investors eye more trade deals, updates from President Trump’s trip to the Middle East and fresh consumer inflation data after U.S. stocks soared Monday as investors celebrated major progress on U.S.-China trade talks.

Also, Trump officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Energy Secretary Chris Wright, are testifying before various committees. Democratic Rep. Joyce Betty got into heated questioning with Bessent concerning the change of the $20 bill from President Andrew Jackson to the underground railroad leader Harriet Tubman.

While the White House backed off from its steepest levies on Chinese goods, economists say it’s still too early to declare the US economy is out of danger altogether. Recession risks remain, even if the odds of a downturn have been dialed back a notch.
