A person was shot and injured during an attempted robbery in west Fort Worth early Saturday, police said. Officers responded to the 2200 block of Blythwood Trail around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. They found someone with a gunshot wound in the arm, police said. Investigators believe the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.

Fort Worth police said they arrested nine people Monday in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at an El Rancho Supermercado, which investigators believe caused up to $100,000 in total losses.

The officer was shot at, but was not hit by the gunfire, police said. Investigators have not said what led to the shooting or who fired first.

Those arrested include a man believed to have committed the longest string of robberies by one person in city history, officials said.
