An appeals court ruled Tuesday to allow the Department of Government Efficiency access to sensitive data stored by three federal agencies. The ruling overrides a lower court’s decision in February which blocked DOGE from accessing Americans’ data at the Education Department,

The 2-1 majority cited the Supreme Court’s ruling to grant DOGE access to Social Security Administration IT and said a district court “abused its discretion” by issuing the injunction.

The decision cited a Supreme Court order in June granting DOGE analysts sweeping access to other data stored at the Social Security Administration.
