The Radisson Blu in downtown Minneapolis is set to layoff 126 employees, according to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The layoffs are set to begin on Nov. 9.
The Minneapolis Radisson Blu is expected to open in late 2012. It would be the second property under the brand in the U.S.; the first is set to open in Chicago next year.
Minnesota launched the FireLake brand, opening the first restaurant in downtown Minneapolis' Radisson Blu Hotel in 2003. The second opened in 2013 at the Mall of America.

With the pandemic severely restricting travel, the Radisson Blu Minneapolis Downtown hotel will lay off 126 workers beginning Nov. 9, according to a notice filed last week with the state of Minnesota.
The partnership between the hotel and university initially began in 2015, when the Radisson Blu accepted two colonies, or 20,000 bees from the school’s bee lab, according to Green Lodging News.
