The New York Yankees are continuing to chase their first World Series championship since 2009. One former player believes the club has done a great job at retooling this offseason despite Juan Soto’s departure.

But despite losing Soto after he spent a year in pinstripes, Derek Jeter thinks his former team has had a successful winter coming off of their first World Series appearance since 2009.

Suzuki, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, was elected to the class of 2025 just one vote shy of being unanimous. The one voter who left Suzuki off the ballot has not come forward and the Hall does not release ballots unless the writer gives permission. Five years ago, Jeter too, came up one vote short. The voter who omitted Jeter never came forward.
