National Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome and No. 3 Auburn captured the Maui Invitational championship with a 90-76 win over Memphis on Wednesday at Lahaina Civic Center. Broome and frontcourt running mate Dylan Cardwell dominated Penny Hardaway’s Tigers (6-1).

Johni Broome scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead No. 4 Auburn to the Maui Invitational championship with a 90-76 win over Memphis on Wednesday.Auburn (7-0) opened the game with a 9-0 run spurred by Broome's 3-pointer from the right wing just 22 seconds in.

The Auburn outrebounded Memphis 32-26 led by the presence of Broome and Dylan Cardwell who finished with 18 points in the frontcourt. Memphis leaned on Tulsa transfer Pj Haggerty for a lot of its offensive production. He led the Tigers with 15 points at halftime mark and finished with 27.
