A decision on the fate of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy could be made on Monday. Pakistan have reportedly agreed to host the tournament in a hybrid model.

Before being postponed to Saturday, the brief meeting took place for about 20 minutes and ended with no consensus on the venue of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

“We have come up with a fair solution. If India refuse, they cannot expect us to play there in the future. If the ICC events are held in India, Pakistan should be allowed to play their matches or finals in Dubai, ensuring fairness,” a PCB source was quoted in the report.

The UAE has hosted a few events in recent years involving India and Pakistan such as the Asia Cup 2018 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. With expats from both nations residing in the UAE, it is a very likely option to host India’s matches if the ICC decides on a hybrid model.

With Pakistan seeking to host their first major ICC tournament in nearly three decades, the ICC Board’s meeting will determine the schedule of the tournament, indicating where each team will play and likely also reserving a neutral venue.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) agrees to the 'Hybrid' model for the 2025 Champions Trophy but wants it applied to ICC events in India until 2031. PCB seeks equitable travel arrangements between India and Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in February-March but India refused to play their matches in the neighbouring nation citing security concerns.
