The storm caused moderate flash flooding across urban areas in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as well as minor river and stream flooding as rain at times fell at more than 1 inch per hour.

A winter storm slammed Maine with several inches of rain and gusty winds Wednesday night and Thursday morning, though the state escaped the flooding some forecasters had predicted.
