A “particularly dangerous situation” red flag warning for fire weather was set to kick in at noon Monday and last until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters are making great progress in the fight against the Palisades Fire, which is at 52% containment as of Sunday morning. More winds are expected in the forecast, however, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch.

First responders increased containment on the Palisades and Eaton fires burning in Los Angeles County on Monday, making progress ahead of extreme fire weather forecasted to last until Tuesday as the region reels from some of the worst wildfires in its history.
