Judge Beverly Cannone has denied Karen Read’s request to add another attorney to her defense team ahead of the start of her second murder trial in April.

Judge Beverly Cannone said Read’s lawyers cannot add attorney Mark Bederow to their ranks because he also represents Aidan Kearney, the blogger known as “Turtleboy."

In her ruling, Cannone says statements made outside of court could taint the jury pool ahead of Read’s retrial in April.
