Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp first launched as a free-to-play game in 2017 on Android and iOS devices, almost three years ahead of the Animal Crossing boom in 2020. The game got regular updates throughout its seven-year history, with new events, items, and features added in subsequent versions of the app.

While it may be Thanksgiving, fans of the cozy Animal Crossing franchise may not be too thankful about what today means for them.

Earlier this week, you might have seen how Isabelle and the villagers said their goodbyes in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on mobile devices. Well, in an update, the online service for the free-to-play game has now officially ended.

Animal Crossing's long-running cosy smartphone spin-off will be switched off today, at 3pm UK time. That's just under two hours' away, at the time of writing. At that point, you'll no longer be able to log in or play Pocket Camp, and your account - unless linked to your Nintendo Account - will be gone for good.
